Our research is lead by Mr. Venkatesh Ramireddy. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany, in 2016. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. degree within the Department of Electrical Engineering at the same university. During his Master studies, he served as a student assistant at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, Germany,  from June 2015. Subsequently, he transitioned into a scientific employee role at Fraunhofer IIS, Germany, in 2016, where he continued his work until April 2024. Over the span of 8 years at Fraunhofer IIS, he contributed to various projects, including those funded by the European Union and projects related to 5G standardization. Since 2018, he has held the position of Standardization Delegate for NR in 3GPP RAN WG1. His research interests revolve around multidimensional precoding and codebook design for multi-antenna systems.

Venkatesh Ramireddy has been an active contributor to the ongoing 3GPP RAN1 standardization efforts since March 2018. His contributions include writing standard-relevant documents and proposing topics related to Channel State Information reporting and Type-II codebook enhancements. Throughout this period, he has attended 3GPP RAN1 meetings, participating in discussions related to the proposed topics. With a broad understanding of the CSI reporting framework of 3GPP New Radio Releases 15-18, he has demonstrated his expertise in interpreting and understanding technical specifications such as TS 38.211, TS 38.212, TS 38.213, and TS 38.214 (Rel. 14 – Rel.18). During his tenure at Fraunhofer IIS, Germany, he has sharpened his skills in the physical layer of 5G NR systems, including but not limited to frame structure, channel coding, MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and beamforming techniques. He is well-versed in 5G NR procedures, including Channel State Information reporting, scheduling, and reporting mechanisms. Moreover, he has played an important role in designing, implementing, and evaluating novel concepts for 5G wireless communication systems through link-level simulations using MATLAB since 2018. His contributions extend beyond mere technical expertise, as evidenced by his involvement in developing intellectual property through patent applications and technical publications. He excels in English language proficiency, both written and verbal and has the ability to draft patent applications, publications, and presentations.
